Introducing

Hi, I'm Loz and this is jasper
Tundra Kids started from an idea I had in the toilet.
I want my son to grow up in bright coloured, comfortable and functional clothing (hello pockets and natural materials) which knows no gender. While trying to find somewhere local and online to purchase beautiful handmade items (and stealing a few moments of peace in the toilet) I realised that unless I made it to the next travelling fair, I was out of luck. I wondered if maybe I could change that, and so the first seed of the Tundra Kids idea was planted.
The Clothes
Once the seed had sprouted, the research began. It was important to me that I knew where these clothes were coming from, how they were made and who was making them. After many weeks of back and forth with my very patient friend in the Himalayas, I felt confident that not only were my clothes coming from Fair Trade conditions, but by purchasing them I am supporting the livelihoods of many Nepalese families at the base of the Himalayas in Nepal. You can feel confident, too.

The Story
Tundra Kids is run by a Stay at Home Mama in Aotearoa. From the moment I order stock until it arrives on your doorstep, I run every part of the process. These should be items you love - including the price tag! - provided as sustainably as possible. I use r3pack compostable packaging and hand make my tags using biodegradable string and recycled cardboard (yes, that tag was once a paper bag!).
Because each item is handmade, the sizes aren't perfect, and no two items are the same, although many have similar colourways. This means I've done my best to provide an age range and measurements for each piece, but if it arrives and its not what you thought, rest assured that I will help to make sure you're completely happy!
